What makes a good Tarot reader?

By admin · Comments (0)

Psychic party Tarot readingThe best Tarot readers are sensitive and intuitive: genuine psychics who merely use the ancient imagery of their Tarot cards as a visual stimulus, enabling them to tap into their own inner wisdom. Anyone can learn to read the cards to some extent, and doing so will benefit you in many ways, but it is generally accepted that the truly great Tarot readers are born, not made.

Tarot is a wonderful tool for deepening your understanding of life and of the people around you.
It is a shame that despite the long history of Tarot, many people still don’t understand what it’s all about, or how and why it works.

One major misconception about Tarot is that it’s all “fortune telling mumbo jumbo”. This is largely due to the way it has traditionally been portrayed in Hollywood ‘B’ movies: as the preserve of gypsy charlatans and tricksters, or as something dark and sinister, but this is simply not the case.

Most modern practitioners are sensitive, responsible souls who have a deep-seated desire to help their clients achieve greater happiness and fulfilment through an understanding of some of the forces acting upon them, both positive and negative.

A gifted tarot reader can help you to see the issues surrounding your life with far greater clarity. They can help you to overcome many of the problems and worries in your day to day life by giving you gentle guidance and advice, and can often alert you to forces around you which may not always have your best interests at heart. A wise reader will encourage you to take responsibility for your own life, and to be the active determinant of your destiny, rather than a passive victim, blown on the winds of fate like a leaf in the breeze.

In more ancient times, many people believed in the unshakable power of predestination. Many believed that the future was set in stone, and that we poor humans were merely the playthings of the gods, with no real control over our own lives. The vast majority of Tarot practitioners today acknowledge the power of the individual to shape his or her own destiny. The future lies in your own hands, and a good Tarot consultant will enable their clients to see that.
Another misconception is that Tarot is a mechanical ‘system’ for giving readings. Again – not true! The cards form only a part of the whole picture. The energies of both the person HAVING the reading and the person DOING the reading also come into play. The tarot reader’s main job is to decipher the meaning of the cards for the individual client.

No two readings are ever identical, just as no two people are. Even if by some peculiar twist of fate the exact same cards were to be drawn, the meanings will be subtly different depending upon various factors: the time, the circumstances, the subtle shifts of psychic energy, and the various forces acting upon all the parties involved. A truly gifted tarot reader will pick up on all of these factors, and when combined with their own unique psychic abilities, the truths and perceptions which come flooding out can be extremely insightful.

This is what makes Tarot so powerful, and so fascinating.

Free Tarot Reading Of The Week

By admin · Comments (0)

We’ve been swamped with requests for more of our personal in-depth Psychic Readings, so as a special treat we’ve decided to give one lucky reader a free Tarot reading every Friday. Send us your questions and every week we’ll select one at random and do our best to help you.

To kick start the new service, here’s a request from Helen B. from Brighton, UK, who wrote to us with the following question:

I’ve recently left my job as a teaching assistant after 8 years to devote more time to my family, but I’m starting to feel a little bit bored. I really want to go back to work, maybe on a part time basis, but I’m not sure of the best thing to do. Any advice?

So we carried out a career spread for Helen, and here’s what we came up with.

Career Tarot Reading for Helen B.

Card 1: Death

Well as I’m sure that you know (or at least I hope you do), the Death card in Tarot does NOT represent physical death. Quite the contrary: despite the way it’s often portrayed on TV shows and in horror movies, the Death card in Tarot is an extremely positive card. In this position, it represents a life-changing transformation for Helen. The end of one phase of life, and the beginning of another. Considering the situation she’s in right now, it couldn’t be more appropriate.

Think of it as the end of a season. Just as, in winter, the plants and flowers don’t really die, but merely go into a period of suspension ready for their rebirth in the spring, the same is true here. Helen is experiencing a period of suspension, and (as she said) she’s starting to feel a little bored. The truth is that she’s ready for her transformation into what she was always destined to become – and the beginnings of that rebirth are just around the corner.

Helen, it’s time to let go of some old attachments and cut some of those tangled strings that have been holding you back. Right now, you’re like a chrysalis – about to break out from your cocoon and emerge as a beautiful new butterfly.

Card 2: Ace of Swords

You’re about to gain a profound sense of insight – a revelation which will give you a clear sense of direction.

The Ace of Swords in this position shows me that you’re going to be able to cut a clear path through the next few months as you start out in a brand new journey. Things are going to become much, much clearer in the period between now and the end of the year, and it will feel as if your vision is clearing. You’ll be able to see your target with absolute precision, and take aim like an expert archer.

Not only are you going to have a clear view of the course ahead of you, but there’s a wider visionary sense too – almost as if you can suddenly see the whole picture for the first time. Previously you felt like you were getting bogged down in the details, but now you can see the wood AND the trees (so to speak).

Rely on your own intuition here. I get the sense that you’re actually quite a visionary person, and your gut instincts are rarely wrong. If something feels right, that’s your inner wisdom pushing you in the right direction – and similarly, if you get a sense in the pit of your stomach that something is ‘wrong’, you’re usually bang on target. So learn to trust those instincts, because it’s almost as if you’ve got your own built in SatNav, steering you in the right direction.

I’m actually getting the sense that it’s a good time for you to consider quite a bold move – have you been thinking of striking out on your own and maybe setting up a little business for yourself?

I know you didn’t mention that sort of thing in your question, Helen, but I really get a strong sense about this, so perhaps you’d be kind enough to write and tell me if I’m on the right track here.

Card 3: Two of Cups

This is all about the people around you, and the Two Of Cups in this position is telling me that there’s an important partnership involved here. A loving relationship, which is going to provide a great deal of support in your new enterprise. Whatever you do now, it has to be rooted in love.

There’s someone in your immediate environment right now who has a profound understanding of you, and he’s going to be absolutely integral to this. There’s a real sense of teamwork here… but I’m sensing a sort of reluctance on your part to involve them in the business or career change that you’ve been considering. Don’t rule them out of the equation. I sense that deep down, you KNOW their essential nature is just right for the task in hand, so what’s stopping you from telling them all about your plans? If it’s the fear that they’ll think you’re being rash or reckless – don’t be afraid. They’re actually going to be thrilled at the things you’ve got in mind, and you’re going to receive a serious boost just at the time you need it.

Again, trust yourself to do the right thing – cos this person DEFINITELY trusts you and knows your true worth.

Card 4: Five of Swords

This is about you doing your bit for the community.
The Five of Swords may seem like a slightly strange card to find in this position, but it’s all about challenge. It’s about you bucking the trend and not being afraid to take a risk.

Again, it’s that rebellious streak of yours – the same one that (I suspect) occasionally gets you into trouble, but more often than not, you end up being right. There’s some particular issue right now that is very close to your heart, and it’s to do with your local community. Is that right? There’s this sense that SOMETHING is dividing your group of friends, or the people around you… and it’s part of your mission to help find a solution.

This situation is going to bring out a hidden strength in you – something that has been buried for a while, but has nevertheless been bubbling under the surface, waiting for the right opportunity to show itself. You’re very capable of steppng in and leading the way when you have to.

You’re the torchbearer here… and you’re capable of inspiring people and rallying them to the cause. I think this ties in to the little ‘enterprise’ you’ve been toying with.

And this is undoubtedly why you’ve been feeling a bit frustrated recently. You know something needs to be done, and you’ve not been sure whether you are the right person for the job, but let me assure you Helen – you ARE! You’re in exactly the right place at the right time – and your time is now. You can create a sense of a common mission and a united vision in the people around you.

Position 5: The Star

You’re on the brink of understanding who you truly are.

This is such a powerful reading… Over the next few months (definitely in the weeks running up to Christmas),
the influence of The Star tells me that you are going to start getting profound messages coming through, loud and clear, about why you’re here!

This is going to be a profound experience for you. Everything is coming into perspective. You’ve sometimes felt out of place in the past, but it feels like you’re coming home at last. You’re no longer thrashing about in the dark – everything is going to feel like it’s being “lit up” all of a sudden.

Position 6: The Moon

Again, this is about trusting your intuition and your inner wisdom. The Moon in this position, as the final card in your reading, is telling you to trust your instincts. It’s all about gut feelings and interior forces steering you in the right direction. All through the reading, this sense has been growing stronger and stronger – that you’re about to embark upon a mission which will change not only your life, but those of a lot of people around you – and it will change everything for the better.

Don’t try to second-guess yourself: too much pondering will only slow you down, and things are going to start moving really fast for you very soon, but I think you’re going to relish the challenge. It’s what you were born for.

I hope this makes sense to you, and I wish you the very best of luck with your new mission. I know you’re going to grab hold of all the positive energies coming your way and craft them into something wonderful, so I really want you to write to us in a few weeks or months and let us know exactly what this amazing mission of yours is. I think you kind of know already, but it will be wonderful to have it confirmed.
